Computer games for kids

A few decades ago, computer games had bad graphics, bad music and were not very interesting. This meant that children wanted to play these games only for a short time, and then, they would go out and do something better. But today, computer games have great graphics (sometimes I cannot make a difference between a computer game and reality) and they are much more interesting. This means that kids don’t want to stop playing them.

The good side of computer games is that the child must react very fast, which involves hand-eye coordination, and improve it over the time. Kids use their intelligence to solve some problem or puzzles, so it can make them smarter. They can play with their friends, which is important for social skills and they get more confidence because they are advancing and moving across the levels. Many games have talking character and require from children to read something, so it can be useful for their reading and speaking.

But, many of these games are violent. They involve killing and blood, which is bad for your children! During the time your child will start thinking that it is normal to do, so it will start fighting and causing problems. The best way to stop that is to prevent your child playing these violent games at first place! You can find many games that are basically quests and puzzles, which can be useful. But, sadly, many computer games are representing war, fast drive and violence, and you don’t want to be played by your child. The most important thing is to limit the time, which your child spends in front of a computer.
