How can you avoid Health Hazards at Beach

Every year, Americans move to beaches for fun. This is the best way by which you can escape summer heat for a few hours or a long weekend. Although it offers you great joy, there are also many dangers associated with it. When you are in the beach, you should ensure that you are aware of all kinds of hazards and should make use of all the safety tips specified here. 
•    Water Hazards
Before you get into the water to face the waves, you should know how to swim. You should avoid swimming alone. You should take precautionary steps, swim only in the presence of a lifeguard and follow all the instructions given by them. You should also make sure that you know all the dangers of rip currents, narrow currents of water that flows away from the shore. Generally, the waves rise from 10 – 20 ft and the shift moving streams are strong enough to carry the swimmers away from the shoreline. Every year, rip currents cause death of 100 people in the U.S. and the lifeguard saves more than 50,000 swimmers annually. 
•    Shocks and Stings
Some species found in the water are very dangerous. Some of them are the jellyfish that hangs around the beach. The common sea nettles and more dangerous variety of Portuguese Man of War in the south. This can cause a serious threat and discomfort to you. When you come across a jellyfish, the best thing that you can do is to avoid them. If you get stung then you should return to the shores. You should remove all the things that get stuck to the stings like the tentacles and you can then dry the area. You should be sure to have a blot dry skin and should not rub it. Instead of depending on home treatment like quicking fixing it with vinegar or urine, you should visit the lifeguard stand and seek the help of the patrols who provide you with all the products that helps you to clean and numb the stings.
