Postpartum Services

What is Postpartum Care?

Parenthood is amazing and life changing, whether it’s your first baby or your fourth. After the birth of a baby many parents find themselves striving to balance self-care and baby care. It takes time to adjust to a new family member and to find your groove. We are here to provide support to the new parents, so they are able to offer their best to their little ones.

Postpartum support is $35 an hour. A minimum of three hours of support must be scheduled for a day. This does not include the postpartum visit that I do as a birth doula.

Daytime Support

Daytime Support is available between 9am-5pm. Raising a child takes a village, I would love to be part of yours. Postpartum doula care includes assistance with watching baby while you catch a nap, or bathe, assistance preparing meals, doing light housework, and baby laundry, as well as general tidying up. Our focus is you. We want to provide you whatever support you need while you recover from birth and enjoy your baby moon. Have questions? I can provide evidence based care and information on postpartum healing, newborn care, baby wearing, breastfeeding, cloth diapering, and sibling support.

Nighttime Support

Nighttime support is offered between 9pm and 9am. Sleep plays an important role in healing after a baby is born. I strive to help facilitate good sleep for you and baby. Your goals are our goals, which means nighttime doula care varies from family to family. If breastfeeding is your goal, we will do everything in our power to help you have success, including offering information and support, and bringing your baby to you to feed at night. Prefer to offer bottles and get some good sleep? I can take care of baby feeding, burping, swaddling and soothing while you get much needed rest. Need a snack or water while up caring for baby? We can help with that, too.

Baby Knows Breast offers a discount on postpartum services for families who also hire us to be their birth doula, as well as a discount if you purchase nine or more hours of postpartum care. We are happy to work with you to create a custom postpartum package that works for your family's needs.

We do not provide medical advice, diagnose medical problems, or provide childcare while the parents are away from home.
